Welcome to Rising Phoenix Counseling Services!
Rising Phoenix Counseling Services, LLC. officially began its journey in 2024, but the journey began as an idea in 2019. Owner, Mariah Tipton, started her educational journey towards mental health & was inspired by the work of others in the field. The journey began in 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic when the need for mental health skyrocketed to unprecedented numbers & she started working with young adults struggling with anxiety, grief, & trauma. In 2022, she noticed that authentic therapists was much needed & that the mental health field had to change.
Mariah had a vision to provide mental health services and give back to the community that gave her so much knowledge & opportunity. Rising Phoenix became a product of what she had envisioned for the community & the people living in it. She continues to find new opportunities to provide her clients client-centered services for adults & professionals entering the mental health field. Like every journey, Rising Phoenix has many roads to cross and hills to climb towards success, but there is no where else to go, but up. Mariah continues to work with maximum effort, authenticity, enthusiasm, and dedication to help any individual who walks through the doors of Rising Phoenix to encourage them to be the best versions of themselves.
Meet Our Therapists
Mariah Tipton, MA, LPC, EMDR Trained, Clinical Supervisor
She/Her/Hers
Mariah is the founder, C.E.O. of Rising Phoenix, and a licensed professional counselor.
“I believe therapy works best when you feel both supported and guided. My style is direct, warm, and transparent — I explain the process, collaborate with you, and adapt therapy to what your nervous system needs.
I work with clients who are new to therapy, who learned early on to prioritize others’ needs in order to maintain safety, connection or stability, as well as those who have been in therapy before and want deeper, trauma-focused work. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware, and tired of feeling stuck despite ‘doing all the right things.’ My role is to help you understand what’s happening in your mind and body and support you in creating meaningful, lasting change.”
Mariah works with pre-teens (12+ years of age), teenagers, adults, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Andrew Deem, MA, LPCC, Sand Tray Trained
He/Him/His
Andrew is a pre-licensed outpatient therapist practicing under licensed supervision at Rising Phoenix.
“Healing looks different at every age. Some people need clear conversations to understand what’s happening in their mind and body. Others — especially children — need space to express themselves through play, creativity, and movement. I help children who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or shut down — especially neurodivergent kids — feel safer, more confident, and better understood. My approach is warm, playful, and structured — helping children feel safe, understood, and supported while building coping skills at their own pace.”
Andrew works with children, pre-teens, teenagers, & the LGBTQIA+ community.
Kimberly Perlin, Clinical Mental Health Intern
She/Her/Hers
Kimberly is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern, practicing under licensed supervision at Rising Phoenix.
“I provide supportive, client-centered therapy for children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, and depression. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based, thoughtful care. I engage in up-to-date training, as well as regular supervision and consultation. Therapy moves at your own pace. Sessions are built on trust, empathy, and feeling heard. We work on understanding how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect — learning tools to manage anxiety and low mood.”
Kimberly works with children, pre-teens, teenagers, religious, & the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Your mental health is not a destination, but a process.”
